Listen. Measure. Understand.
Watchmaker-grade numbers from the phone in your pocket.
-
Live measurement
Rate in seconds per day, beat error in milliseconds, amplitude in degrees and a stability reading — with automatic beat-rate detection from 12,000 to 36,000 bph.
-
Classic trace
The two-line paper-tape trace from the bench: slope shows rate, gap shows beat error. A signal-quality meter tells you when to trust the numbers.
-
Accuracy tracking
Tap along with the seconds hand every few days to learn how many seconds a day your watch really gains or loses on the wrist. No microphone needed.
-
Positional test
A guided run through the six regulation positions. Chronolyze computes the positional variation (Δ) a watchmaker regulates against, and explains it.
-
Magnetization check
A suddenly fast watch is usually magnetized. Your iPhone’s magnetometer checks in seconds, before you pay for a service you don’t need.
-
Watch collection
Per-watch lift angle and beat rate, full measurement history, saved positional runs and re-viewable traces for every session.
-
104 movements built in
Seiko, ETA, Sellita, Miyota, Rolex, Omega, Grand Seiko, Tudor and more, each with the right lift angle and beat rate already set.
-
Plain-language verdicts
Every finished measurement ends with a clear verdict and a report card you can share.
What you need
A quiet room and a mechanical watch, hand-wound or automatic. Rest the case against the bottom edge of your iPhone, where the microphone is. Quartz watches don’t tick the same way — Chronolyze recognises one and says so rather than reporting nonsense.
Chronolyze is a reference tool, not professional instrumentation. Readings are approximate and depend on ambient noise, positioning and your device. For a definitive diagnosis or regulation, consult a qualified watchmaker.
